An international animal health exhibition begins in Dhaka on Thursday
An international animal health exhibition is set to begin in Dhaka on Thursday. The exhibition is being organized to expand domestic and foreign investment and accelerate sustainable growth in Bangladesh’s animal health, fisheries, and livestock sectors.
The three-day event, titled the “6th AHCAB International Expo,” will take place from January 8 to 10 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), located near Kuril Bishwa Road in the capital. The expo is being organized by the Animal Health Companies Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB).
To mark the occasion, AHCAB held a press conference today (Monday) at the National Press Club. Those present included AHCAB President Sayem Ul Haque, Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain, and Munna Raihan, President of the Fisheries and Livestock Journalists Forum (FLJF).
What to expect:
This year’s expo will feature 220 companies from 14 countries. With the aim of creating new opportunities for international trade, technology exchange, and investment cooperation in the animal health and fisheries sectors, the exhibition will include 128 local and international stalls. Leading domestic companies will also showcase their modern products, technologies, and services.
The expo will display modern vaccines, medicines, feed solutions, diagnostics, and new technologies. Additionally, seminars will be held with participation from local and international experts on animal health, sustainable development, and global trade. The exhibition is expected to serve as an integrated platform connecting farmers, veterinarians, experts, agribusiness entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
AHCAB President Sayem Ul Haque noted that the organization started in 2003 with 18 members. Today, it has approximately 800 registered members, including more than 400 active members.
The press conference also announced that the expo will be inaugurated at 3:00 pm on January 8 by Farida Akhter, Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, as the chief guest.
